Dopamine drips in production that’s absolutely flooded with sound from all ends. It’s smooth and groovy as hell, carving itself out on this alternative pop beat that jumps and oscillates between hip-hop and more sugary pop melodies. The chorus is annoyingly catchy, the kind that you can’t help but start humming even if this song played in the background with your notice. Couple that with verses that are punchy and delivered with a swagger and confidence that’s delectably confident, it’s hard not to see why “Dici” is quickly racking up a fanbase and streaming numbers. “Dopamine” is energising, engrossing, and topical.
It works both as a casual listen and also as a club banger with the sheer weight behind those lyrics that make it that infectious. “She pops pills like ecstasy/likes cocaine and MTV” might sound straight out of a 80s rock song, but infused with this slick production and delivery, it takes on a whole new feeling.
This is a bop and a half, with a slew of remixes to it to enhance that experience should you choose to go down.
