An ever so engaging three track EP, Hurricane #1’s exciting and exhilarating rock and roll opus ‘Autopilot Man’ is buckets of fun from back to front. The Scottish based rockers bring out their flair with a verve and tenacity like no other on this piece. Each tune feels more addictive than the last, just rolling out earworms that combine classic sounds with a contemporary sheen to make them all that much more addictive.
From the titular opener, that chorus line just echoes those two words with a melodic hook that’s impossible not to hum along to. The guitar work is sublime as well, an energising and moody riff that gets you in the groove. On ‘Shine On Mr. Harvey’, the efforts are doubled into a more easy going and light hearted soundscape that shines through with so much warmth and affection. The more Americana infused ballad that is The Reason caps off the three track journey in the best possible way as well.
It’s a glowingly arranged yet simple enough sonically sounding EP. Hurricane #1 stick to what makes rock and roll evergreen and do so with shining colours on ‘Autopilot Man’.
