From Turnersville New Jersey comes a rousingly stirring rendition of a Kansas classic. Matt Deangelis’ anchoring vocal performance, coupled with a raw and impassioned folk rock core delivers the emotional weight and vigour of “Dust in the Wind” with the same intensity as before, but with a renewed sense of importance. It’s got a quality that lets you feel the weight of the world, obviously heightened by the insignificance we all play that’s highlighted so poetically in the chorus. At its core though, there’s a beacon of positivity that Deangelis is able to still push through in this cover, an inspirational lighthouse of hope that radiates through each expression while still maintaining a stark and powerful warning to the horrors and desolation that climate change can potentially wield over us.
It is an emphatic and expressive performance.
