Stefan West’s well on his way to becoming a resoundingly successful indie sensation. The Australian singer-songwriter performs with such aura, a power and flair that exudes confidence few can aspire to in all honesty. On “Slow Down World”, the relatability of his lyrics combined with the sincerity of his performance just leave you entirely swept away by his message. It talks about the feeling of being left behind, but in a way that’s so relatable at least for me. The chaos of life, the idea of trying to better yourself, and the hopeless wheel of time all just barreling at you until you feel completely defeated amidst this even if you yearn to “come back swinging”.
Every moment feels like the walls around you are crumbling bit by bit and you’re just yearning for it to end. With a wonderfully orchestral horn section amidst it all, you do find those silver linings of hope just praying that things can take a turn for the better amidst this unforgiving ride.
