Nick Cody’s rendition of the iconic Fleetwood Mac song “Dreams” takes a renewed flip to the classic. Collaborating with the incredibly talented Towse, Corwin Zekley, and Harry Orme, this cover breathes new life while retaining the eternal ethos of what makes this song just so immediately recognisable.
This rendition of dreams thrives off of the electric chemistry between Cody and his collaborators. The vocal harmonies on “Thunder only happens when its raining” is a striking highlight, hitting you just as powerfully as it does in the original. It’s restrained when it needs to be, buoyant when it can be, and boisterous throughout.
Nick Cody’s vocals are a standout feature of this cover. His delivery is soulful, aching, and emotive, paying homage to the original while infusing it with his own gruffness and almost meditative calmness. For any Fleetwood Mac, this is a cover that’s bound to have you feeling relieved and inspired. The acoustic work throughout is simply sublime as well.
