Al Shalliker’s roots rock inspirations shine through with grit and hustle on the raucous ride that is “Time Out Of Mind”. “Why have I wasted all this time” he sings before the chorus, lamenting his choices and the wrong choices he’s made. But it’s in the performance, his unique singing style that’s brought out with a gruffness and a theatric nature that adds so much depth to the entire track. The folksy strumming and harmonica instrumentation only adds to that distinctly 60s energy as well. It sounds like something out of a different time, but that’s precisely why it’s all the more impactful to be heard today.
A sheer delight from back to front.
