Bones in Butters return with a piece that has the group staying on course with their offbeat rock n roll energy. Milutin Krasevic’s keenly inspired Lou Reed vocals, the blurry instrumentation, and the hazy composition has you absolutely floating throughout ‘Never Without You’. ‘Nothing and nowhere, without you’ as the chorus goes, is delivered with such a Sinatra esque assuredness that you’re so easily serenaded by the entire flow. It has that classical feeling, but its shrouded amidst a production style that’s wildly imaginative and distorted.
Definitely, ‘Never Without You’ is a more traditional composition from the group that tends to break barriers with every new release. It’s far more restrained and mellow, a soothingly calm and loving track that works as a lullaby almost. But even here there’s so much happening in the background for the listener to take in. It’s produced with substance and sung with style, resulting in a rather eclectic combination of dream pop and classic rock. Serenade away.
