Playing at their own venue, their home venue, their place of specialty, ‘I Want Your Love’ is an absolute rollercoaster of a hard rock tune from Oakland based Year of the Fist. Ivy Room has been Year of the Fist’s East Bay home venue since it was re-established six years ago. They’ve continually been headlining or supporting acts at the venue ever since. There’s a grittiness to this record, a raw, almost garage-esque confluence of grunge, metal, and brash power punk. A flurry of distorted guitars, a bellowing vocal performance that’s loaded with angst and passion, and a pulsating drum beat all combine to have you entirely transfixed at their inescapable energy.
