This Brighton based alternative rock trio are all about celebration and pomp. On their latest piece, ‘You Are Not Fans (You Are Our Friends)’, they’ve penned a love letter to those who helped them rise and really hit the highs that they’re at today. The quirky piece of punk rock is a bit all over the place, not typically melodic or straightforward in its beat. Slightly staccato and occasionally cacophonic, the chaos that The Qwarks evoke is their defining piece. The slightly psychedelic rock piece is haywire and confusing, almost encouraging you to fall into the haze alongside them.
There’s a ton of stuff flying around, questions that we ask ourselves the answers of which are often curated by influencers and educators alike who try to warp us into their individualised cults and sell their ideas as solutions. The Qwarks are nothing like that. They don’t want to offer solace or promise salvation, they embrace the chaos and revel in it. Decry self-help in all its pervasive and perverse forms and embrace angst in its madness.
