Opening with an abrasive and chafed riff that cuts you and piques you at the same time, Bag of Cans are far from your average alternative rock group. It doesn’t stop there either, as the opening vocals start to narrate rather than sing a humorous series of events that’s best left experienced without expecting anything. If the song’s name wasn’t enough of a giveaway though, clearly Hair of the Dog is all about that long night, and, more pertinently, the repercussions on the next morning. It moves from hard rock to a rant to a soulful choir.
It’s an absolute ball of a record that will have you humoured, excited, and also quite infatuated with the catchiness of its chorus and riffs. A delightfully unique spin.
