Drawing influence from artists as far apart as My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy to classic rock groups from the late 70s and 80s, Owen Coleman’s brand of indie rock is always an exciting ride to go over. The Los Angeles based singer songwriter takes all the production duties as well on his material, and on IF THE WORLD FALLS APART he really struts his stuff. Incorporating everything from shimmering synth work that reminisces to the 80s sound as well as a pumping and cathartic crescendo at the songs end which is backed by a delightful Fall Out Boy falsetto, Coleman really manages to synthesize these two worlds into a style that’s melodic, exciting, and altogether majestic in scale.
A truly wonderful conception that’ll have any rock fan equally impressed and engrossed.
