The follow up record to the critically acclaimed self-titled debut EP earlier this year, Reading-based collective OSP are back with a dark, gritty, and mesmerizingly pulsating Riser Dub remix of the collection’s standout hit ‘Fill It Up’. As if the original wasn’t fire enough, the remix adds a new dimension to the record, giving it a feeling and pulse that makes for a powerful rave anthem. The collective are at their best when they’re spitting bars one after the other, allowing their flow and rhythm to play front and centre. ‘Fill It Up’ worked best for its ridiculously infectious hook line that gave a bedrock to their fiery verses. Now, with a beat that simply can’t be described as anything but ‘ridiculously hard’, this UK based rap collective can’t be on any other path but the road to stardom.
My bets are on OSP to become a new face for Grime in the years to come. They have all the qualities needed, but also a depth and difference that helps them standout markedly amongst their contemporaries. Who releases a seven minute long house/grime matchup that somehow goes even harder than the original? Bang this tune to inject some life in your day.
