A haunting and ominous synth wave driven electronic record, Sebastian Clarin’s ‘Teeth’ starts off dark but soon illuminates itself with a resplendence that’s defiantly euphoric. The song is accompanied and built on grandiose, larger than life synth work alongside subtle and pulsating dance beats that give it a backbone. Clarin’s voice is slow, low, and poetic in performance. The contrast between his Cohen esque delivery and the flourishing glamour of the synths make for a neat little back and forth. The heavy synth bassline combined with his prophetic, serenading lyrics creates a hypnotic trance piece that leaves you entirely hooked and transfixed.
But it’s in the chorus, when the melody begins to reveal itself more clearly and the lavishness of the production starts to shimmer down onto you that ‘Teeth (Cyanides)’ really starts to hit its stride.
