Sounding straight out of a musical thirty years from today, Brendan Bradley’s delightfully futuristic and robotic hyper pop and quirky tune ‘Reprogram Me’ is a perfect mix of Broadway, Video Games, Pop and Comedy. Describing the life of an NPC with vivid and cheeky delight, the song regales the story of one of them in a fictional video game who witnesses the death of the Hero and turns to the audience to navigate the five stages of grief. The cry he sings in the chorus’ titular line becomes a clarion call for the listener as well, as you sing along to the anthemic angst and almost joyful exuberance that’s loaded behind it all.
‘Reprogram Me’ is much too short for my own liking however, almost demanding that you loop it at least once to really feel all you’re looking for.
