Anyone who’s ever been thrown into a long distance relationship can relate to Peter gural’s poignant and rosy summery pop tune ‘Best I’ve Ever Had’. Borrowing elements from retro soundscapes, the guitar driven flowery piece is inspired by Gural’s experience of moving far away from the girl he was head over heels in love with. It’s about dreaming about a rendezvous, imagining a scenario when a reunion can happen, and completely exploring the what if scenario when you feel you’ve lost the best thing you could have had.
The retro riffs and washed over soundscape make Gural’s work sit somewhere interestingly between the lines of modern rock and pop. It feels warmly nostalgic in the best kind of way.
