An opulent cinematic escapade that’s dark, daunting, and haunting all at once, Clare Easdown’s mesmerising dark wave and trip-hop experience on ‘Your Eyes Are Ice’ feels like being submerged underwater with sonic pulses hitting you all around. The song feels so inherently sensual, loaded with feelings of lust and seductive energy all around. The way the vocals are song just exude a sense of deep attraction, a transfixion if you will the object of your desire. But it doesn’t really feel romantic, it feels more lustful and wrong, almost like a desire that’s misplaced or knowingly disturbed.
Regardless, it’s a compelling and bewitching tune that perfectly encapsulates what it means to be hopelessly and almost obsessively addicted to another. Slightly perverse, but entirely captivating.
