You can hear from the opening notes of the piano that ‘A Place of Want’ means something deeper than the average acoustic driven indie folk tune. Gedalya’s lyrics and, more importantly, the sheer expressiveness behind his delivery make this track a powerful and comforting escapist vision to a place of want. When I hear it, I find myself imagining my own ideal space, that special location you envision in your dreams and fantasies where everything feels that its in its right place. ‘A Place of Want’ is reassuring, comforting, and escapist all at once.
Despite its incredible subtlety and sonic simplicity, its the emotion and expression behind the track that really lends its weightage. One of my most treasured pieces of folk that I’ve come across all year, put this on repeat and simply find yourself sinking away to your own personal retreat.
