Tipperary- based artist Pat Donnelly comes through with a crashing melodic infusion on ‘Stay Right Here’. The energetic and excited pop-punk tune trades out the angst for a much more sombre emotional core that wraps you up in your feelings. The rollercoaster of a tune takes you down a path both from the sheer force and tempo of its arrangement alongside an equally heart wrenching theme. Donnelly wrote the song about the prospect of losing a dear friend who was moving away to a distant place. To anyone who has based their entire life around someone close by, the thought of losing that person can throw you in the depths of your own anxieties as you start to question every ounce of your day to day life in that place.
It’s a deeply personal song to me, the kind that’s going to get me through hard days.
