A synthesization of styles that combines so many sonic elements into one, The Cookie Jar Complot bring together multitudes on this wonderfully synth and math rock driven arrangement that’s just an instrumentalists deilght. “Tilidin Zidane” draws its name and inspiration from the magician on the pitch himself, with an artwork to boot that also pays respect and adulation to the legendary Frenchman. There’s not a moment on this track that’s for the slightest bit jarring, it’s a wonderfully cohesive and melodic trip of glitch and rock elements that all fuse together into this soundscape that feels so perpetually full, almost flooding your headphones with an overload of tiny minutia in the arrangement that each add to the overall character and feeling of the operatic piece.
It’s heavy and overwhelming, but also keenly touching and boastfully beautiful in its melody. A masterfully pieced together musical journey that reaches a thundering crescendo in its final minute that’s crushingly cathartic.
