Combining an uplifting and energising up-tempo power pop feeling and ethos with an underlying undercurrent of indie rock, Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends bring out a flourishing and flowing anthem that just has you feeling euphoric in a huge way. Yet, while the emotion that the song may carry and bring out does have the outward appeal of being rousing, it does in fact have a more sombre subject matter. On the surface, the song discusses illness, but deep down its a track about the sadness behind love lost and the memories left behind. But, in the sheer scale and splendour of the arrangement, it’s able to give you this sense of nostalgia that slowly starts to pick away at the melancholy even while it discusses it.
I absolutely adore the arrangement that Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends have brought to life here. It’s such a bright sounding song, with a radiant resplendence that feels like the warmth of a bright sun cutting through gloomy clouds. A loveably sombre indie rock anthem.
