Self taught electronic experimentalist producer ATLS PLAZA N.D is unabashedly out there and offbeat with his conceptions. To go through the entirety of SAINTELLE is downright impossible in a single setting in my view. The record is longwinded beyond reasonable comprehension, standing at over 60 tracks and 12 hours long. It feels more like a playlist, a collection that you can return to time and time again to just hit play as you go about your day to day life. Each song has something different, the structure indescribably unique and differentiated from its predecessor or successor.
It feels like the unravelling of a mind, a complete and utterly blank canvass that feels torn down before being painted back up. The rapid, random, and completely disconcerting sonic soundscapes he brings to life leave you utterly bewildered and transfixed at the same time. The strange inspirations, ranging from deep philosophical introspections to Indian devotional music all feel like additive ingredients that multiply the overall weightage of the project.
I can’t recommend you listen to this record as a cohesive album from start to finish. The entire experience needs to be treated like a pocket of songs you can jump in to when you want to run down a trip of wildly imaginative yet hugely bewildering electro music.
