Traversing across over ten minutes in length, Benjamin Corson’s transcendent piece of modern rock music is a tour de force in progressive sounds and arrangements that’s bound to leave you absolutely floored by the sheer dexterity of musicality on display. The vocals are immense, huge, and piercing. As he sings “Who am I?” with such verve, you can feel the commanding nature of this performance in full swing. Far from what you might sonically expect from a 10 minute rock piece, “Gemini (Part 1&2)” is a rather up tempo and fun listen throughout. It feels like a classic rock and roll track, driven by gritty vocals, powerful riffs, and crashing drums that drive you towards catharsis, only this time with a much more journeyed nature to that final destination.
It’s undoubtedly ambitious, for its scale and intent. But, it doesn’t let that grandiose vision detract from the enjoyability of the piece itself, consistently attractive and flourishing with panache and style. Corson is a talent with a vision and style that’s hard to come by and this magnum opus piece is representative of that in droves.
