For a while now, I’ve been fascinated by the diversity and eccentricity of Bones In Butter. The indie rock outfit are defiantly themselves, with a post rock and blurry production style that hurls you into a world of sheer noise and revel. On ‘Stop Dancing Now!’, the energy is turned up to a hundred. The frenetic post rock pieces is simply relentless in its almost cacophonic arrangement that has you absolutely transfixed. Coupled with an incredibly apt music video that features that features a woman dancing in a frenzy alongside epileptic lighting, there’s a haywire enthusiasm that oozes out of this piece.
Conceptually, the song is a kind of doomsday story, describing humanity’s relentless greed and thirst at any cost. It captures that almost eternal loop we are stuck in with a warning sign that’s depicted in the song’s own frenzied energy. A magnificent piece of post rock from the Belgrade rockers who are constantly innovating and breaking boundaries on each release.
