Cerys Georgina’s debut release sees the London based songwriter treat the world with a voice that’s immediately spell binding. The quaint pop tune is an earworm from the word go, the kind of irresistible melodic song writing that only really comes to naturals this easily on the first try. In a sense combining elements of a more soft and subtle singer-songwriter approach that you might find from a Holly Humberstone with a more up tempo contemporary pop arrangement that has you grooving and moving to the rhythm, ‘Nobody’s Birthday’ grabs your attention and has you singing along to its rather nostalgic emotional exaltation.
I found myself so swooped in to its world, so readily taken in by its effervescent energy and the hopefulness it just exuded. Sometimes a song just hits the notes that make you feel warm and happy within, and Cerys Georgina’s debut does so perfectly.
