Rather meandering, somewhat confusing, yet somehow altogether seamless an experience, Colorfuzz’s experimental genre-defying escapade on ‘At First Sight’ is a statement release from an artist. As far as debuts, it’s difficult to come across something so readily unique and off the wall with its readiness to be so wildly different. Filled with exciting electric guitar riffs, a driving and smooth bassline, and a ridiculously catchy harmonic section on the vocals, ‘At First Sight’ sees Colorfuzz truly strut their stuff to the fullest of their potential. The single person musical project definitely echoes the sheer level of imagination and psychedelic glee that a Tame Impala would but it with an increasingly more provocative choice of melody on the sheer cacophony of the instrumental arrangement.
It’s abrasive and soothing while being psychedelic and raw, a truly mesmerising and all around good time unlike many other. Differentiated as hell, ‘At First Sight’ is a true delight.
