‘Graveyard’ is a rivetingly distinct piece of alternative/garage rock. From London based song-writing talent Cosette Gobat comes a grungy feeling in the riff and a unique indie performance in the vocals that combine for an intriguing blend in tandem. The entire song feels rather mesmerising, a hazy and hypnotic blur of slightly distorted and cluttered guitar work that fuse into one another as Cosette Gobat sings a poignant tale behind it all. Coming from a storied background in the music industry despite her young age, it’s no surprise that this song-writing prodigy is able to pin such seemingly complex ideological concepts into a final product so easily.
It’s moody, grungy, and dreary but somehow retains an air that’s anthemic and defiant through it all. You want to rock out to it, you want to sing along, you want to strum your air guitar, and that’s what makes it such an authentic and sincere piece of rock and roll.
