A presence known to many, Wichita based independent rapper has amassed a following that’s immensely impressive given that he’s done it almost entirely on his own accord. Known more for his lyrical driven tracks, his freestyles, and his frequent rap battles with other internet stars, Dax has taken a more introspective approach on his latest track. Incorporating a more melodic flow and utilising bits of autotune, ‘Searching For A Reason’ feels like a soulful trap song. Drawing visual inspiration from the themes and characters of Alice In Wonderland, the entire song takes you down a journey of life and the numerous instances of strife that we invariably come across as we try to navigate through it.
The delightfully infectious chorus, “Trust gets you killed, love gets you hurt” will be replaying in your head long after the song closes. It’s emotional, vulnerable, and deeply infectious. From an artist who’s so grateful to his fans and constantly shows love back to his audience, all the success that Dax has had is more than justly deserved.
