A flourishing disco synth record from Butte, Montana based Desperate Electric, ‘Stay’ combines the dark with the light to create a scintillating and exciting that feels raw in emotion but polished in execution. The disco synth track opens with subtle conversational lyrics that dive into an emotional plea as the the synth swells into the more epic and frolicking chorus line. The vocal duet, a falsetto and a more baritone performance, perfectly relays off each other to make for a duality that’s exciting in both the sonics of it all but also the actual story being relayed in the tune. You find yourself dancing to the irresistibly groovy beat and chorus but also slowly realising, this is much more dark than the vibe might make it appear to be.
