If the song title wasn’t clear enough, Dust Cwaine’s latest indie pop escapade is a nostalgic dose of summer to a time long gone. It’s made on an aesthetic and a style that’s quite clearly about a space and time. The lead single from Dust’s upcoming LP Arcana that’s set for release on September 23rd, ’90’s Darling’ has a wistfulness to it but not a melancholic overtone whatsoever. There’s a youthfulness to it all, a kind of rosy eyed reminiscence that just has you recalling your own childhood spent on streets with your neighbourhood friends.
Musically, it’s got that ever lasting energy that a good indie pop arrangement is meant to evoke. But it’s most powerful for the arrangement that’s just loaded with a nostalgic sheen to remember.
