An instant earworm that’s playful, warm, and so easily relatable, ear candy does what he does best and creates his namesake on ‘lonely’. The absolutely addictive indie pop tune from the UK song-writer is impossible not to bang your head out to. I found myself singing along to the words within the first listen itself. The song’s interlude, that little interjection where he sings ‘why do you feel like you’re so broken/done hoping’ is such a well written little reprieve in the middle of the larger piece. But, it’s all in the chorus, that ever so infectious and enjoyable punchy piece of pop music that you find yourself completely and wholeheartedly enamoured by.
Modern indie pop that hits every number right, ‘lonely’ is bound to be anthemic.
