Freddie Sunshine is an artist with swagger. The Chicago based rocker has a recording style that’s raw and unfiltered, incorporating elements of hip-hop and emo alongside a more garage production feel and arrangement. He’s innately catchy, bringing out choruses that have you perpetually singing alongside each note, tone, and lyric. The repetitive yet infectious, ‘Don’t keep me waiting here for long’ lives long in your head right after the tracks done playing. You want to replay it, you want it to be firmly ingrained inside as you repeat and repeat the chorus in your head while humming alongside to the beat.
It’s short, succinct, yet hits the nail on the head in its two minute runtime. In many ways, ‘Don’t Keep Me’ is a timely track, perfect for the current climate not only in its structure, but also in its style. Infectious as hell.
