There’s something so easily pleasing and refreshing to hear when you encounter a good old fashioned piece of simple yet crisp rock and roll. Barcelona based rockers GAZ might not reinvent the wheel, but they certainly make a Ferrari quality one when put to the task. ‘Happy Girl’ is just a delightfully fun piece of rock music, driven by a punchy riff, thumping drum work, and a chorus that’s easy on the ears and memorable to the point of annoying addiction. Inspired by a true story, and very clearly interpolating and basing itself off the sounds of classic rock, it’s a certified bop for any rock and roll fan.
You can just hear the group having a great time in the way the instruments so easily work off of each other and in the joy behind the vocal performance. With a little bit taken from all the classic rock legends, this is bound to strike a chord for an old school fan.
