Opening with a scintillating electric riff that pulls you in, ‘I’ve Tried Sleeping’ rock into ‘Some Kind Of Mother’ with true aggressive and intense hard rock fashion. The raucous and raging piece of alternative rock from this Spokane based multi-dimensional artist just brings out a level of power and control to the craft. Sounding like something strangely out of the late 80s and early 90s, the rather almost absurdist nature of the sonic composition is inherently intriguing but definitively based off classic and alternative rock arrangements of old.
The song is itself a salute and battle cry for those who struggle with issues that plague us underneath the surface. An anthem for those going through the depths of mental struggles, ‘Some Kind Of Mother’ empathises and salutes those of us who fight demons on the inside everyday.
