A rather joyous and outwardly sunny piece of indie pop rock, John Joseph’s delightful new release ‘Float’ had me smiling giddily throughout. It’s incredibly upbeat, up-tempo, and positive from back to front. Rarely if at all even including a moment of lull on the track, John Joseph kickstarts the track in a quick pace and continues to rally you with that same energy throughout. You find yourself kicking back and enjoying the back and forth of the melody while also bopping your head to the constant rhythm that the bass guitar anchors the song around. ‘All I ever needed was to float’ becomes such a powerful single line to look forward to and sing along with such an anthemic drive and intention whenever it comes, the kind of eternal hopefulness that helps you move along and keep getting through life regardless of what may come your way.
Joyful, with intent and poignance, ‘Float’ is indie rock done right in every which way.
