Delightfully raucous and simply brimming with an energy that’s infused with good old rock and roll vibes while being decidedly modern indie at its core, Juniper Avenue’s ‘Bumfuzzle’ might be the most energetic and enjoyable pieces of pure rock music I’ve had the pleasure to hear all year. It’s so raw in its expression, so unafraid to be authentically itself, and so loaded with every ounce of the arrangement that you can’t help but sing along and dance along to its delectable energy. The riff is loud and in your face, but never once aggressive. At no point does Bumfuzzle feel like its trying to be an angry energy, it’s consistent youthful exuberance seems so inherently good-intentioned. You just want to have fun with these guys, and I’m sure a live show with this would be a delight for all involved.
With a sizzling solo, an unshackled vocal performance that’s expressive without a fuck to give, and a roaring drum section, this is indie rock unleashed in the best possible way.
