A delightfully fun, upbeat, and radiant piece of modern electro-pop, Lily Gasc’s ‘Les glaces à la fraise’ is just a joyride to listen to. The Swiss based artists French five track EP is just filled out with short and sweet addictive pop melodies that tread into future pop but retain a sense of nostalgic core to it all. The entire record discusses her disillusionment and abandon in adult life, also sounding like a carefree release from the mundanity of the everyday and the responsibilities that are inevitably thrown onto you.
With her previous release also shedding affectionate irony on the daily absurdities of the pandemic, Lily Gasc’s latest album also takes a similar approach to its topics of conversation.
My personal favourite comes on track one itself, Ca Va. If you’re looking for a fun and bright piece of pop music to put a chirpiness to your day, look no further. Language doesn’t need to a barrier when the tunes are just this damn fun.
