A soft and supple piece of indie rock, Lizard Brain Trust’s unique and poignant lo-fi spin to the genre is at once a nostalgic and forward sounding style. ‘Ghost World’ is short and sweet, succinct in every which way. The flavourful and artful piece is decidedly minimal, even teetering off towards the end with a strange and seemingly unpredictable direction. The quiet and hushed nature of the vocals coupled with the washed over shoegaze inspired arrangement make for a slightly grunge feeling interspersed with modern indie pop.
‘Ghost World’ is a delight for any fan of independent rock music that’s offbeat and quirky. You feel swept away into another world, a dimension that’s both grounded yet imaginary. I absolutely adore the vocals in the first half, a touching performance given by this multi-faceted outfit.
