From Cologne based pianist and composer Marcus Sukiennik comes a radically innovative and distinct piece of instrumental music. The aptly titled and predictably sounding tune ‘Unusual Piano Groove’ sees the traditionally classical musician opt for a wildly different approach. Here, Marcus places a melody and rhythm that feels almost like an electronic song, bringing a sense of beat that wouldn’t be out of place on a techno set. It’s almost aching for a bit more to just drop and give it that full rave level experience behind it. As a pure play stripped down piece, it’s exceptionally captivating, keeping you on your toes with its unusual and often times seemingly uneven progression.
With a steady and engrossing beat, you find yourself lost in focus to the movement of his piano and compelled to almost hit the loop button as you find yourself further and further in this state of absorbed focus.
