Matt Xander’s introspective and almost classical hip-hop anthem ‘The Truth’ has one of the most unique and intriguing instrumentals I’ve heard all year. With what seems like a cello or a violin guiding his voice to come in that’s layered over a distorted boom bap beat, it’s certainly bound to perk your ears. Matt Xander’s verse is deeply introspective, almost existential in its content. Asking and poising the fundamental questions about our own existence and worth, he soon concludes on the chorus that he lacks the answers to these seismic debates.
The universe itself is far too vast and immense a space, evidence that we now have with crystal clear focus due to innovations like the telescope. Matt Xander’s powerful delivery and charismatic line of questioning and verses is outstandingly performed. Conscious hip-hop at another level, this Australian MC is bound to jump to new heights.
