What started as a ballad and eventually progressed into a full blow pomp loaded pop song, ‘Heaven’ is a flourishing piece of pop music that’s wonderfully layered and arranged. Penned by the ever promising popstar from Canada Max Edwards, his latest single is vibrant and catchy in equal measure. It starts slow, like a ballad driven by a soft electric backing and poignant loving lyrics. But when the beat starts kicking in, Edwards transforms the song into something far more booming and opulent. Edwards’ sensibilities to carve out addictive pop tunes can’t be denied whatsoever, with Heaven just being infectious from back to front.
The flourish on the chorus, where he starts to sing a rapid fire sequence of lyrics start to ingrain into your mind a while after closure. The pop and r&b aficionado has shades of his influences all across his style, drawing from artists like Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, and Maroon 5. He’s taught himself an entire array of instruments and production software’s and has effectively also honed the craft of song-writing. A future pop star to watch out for.
