From NYC’s hard rock outfit MONTE comes their latest piece of relentlessly angst driven post punk inspired ‘I Hate Me More’. A broken heart might serve as the inspiration of this record, but it doesn’t sound for a moment to be anything remotely melancholic and morose. It’s angry, spiteful, and absolutely roaring in energy. The song, written by singer and guitarist Caitlin Montclare, takes us on a journey of crude self-awareness while we are at our lowest points.
Low self esteem grips us all, but rather than take that self pity into something troublesome or depressing, MONTE turns it into a clarion call, a pulsating and anthemic piece of punk rock that feels empowering in its hateful self deprecation.
