Opening with one of the more intricately bewitching acoustic melodies, Nana Kotten’s ‘One More Chance’ is a poignant and romantic tune about forgiveness. Built off of a serenading vocal harmony on the chorus and a delectable acoustic string melody, it’s impossible not to find yourself so thoroughly mesmerised by the sheer soothing quality it translates onto you. The song’s expression reflects on the protagonist running into a longtime girlfriend and reflecting on the past memories he shared with her. That focal line, ‘I never thought I was gonna run into you’ highlights and evokes emotions of love lost to moments of circumstance and misfortune. When you finally are presented with the opportunity to relive and perhaps chase a relationship again, you’d do anything to get it back. Nana Kottens’ voice is simply exquisite, a decidedly different and meticulously controlled performance that had me completely in awe.
