Fiery and raucous, Not Now Norman’s debut full length album ‘It’s Not This One’ is something to marvel at. The powerful and raging hard rock opus from this United Kingdom based outfit combines elements of the forefathers of the genre with modern stalwarts to give you a scintillating mix that gets you the best of both worlds. From the relentless instrumental opening on ‘Normans Calling’ that gets you in the groove and mood to know what’s coming further to the first real track on ‘Judas – RELOADED’, you can immediately discern the energy and flagrance that this group, majestically lead by Taylor-Grace’s awe inspiring vocals, brings.
The entire record feels like a fuck you to the naysayers, a statement that this group is here to make an impression to remember. With rocking and rivetingly infectious riffs that combine with equally impressive vocals, Not Now Norman bring an energy that uplifts the listener themselves into believing that they themselves can take on whatever obstacles the world might hurl at them or place in front of them.
Personal favourites for me come on ‘Judas-RELOADED’, ‘Little Cheryl’, and ‘WHO ARE YOU!?’. There’s a surprising amount of diversity in the sound itself, giving you something for every kind of rock fan.
