Possibly inspired by the dominant trap culture that constantly discusses infidelity and the absence of commitment in modern relationships, Qastalani’s melodic trap record ‘KING OF TOXIC’ is a vibe and a half. The late night r&b and hip-hop mix discusses the problems of monogamy, as well as a specific sensual relationship with another while still being in a supposedly committed relationship with someone else. It feels like an escape, both from the lyrics and the atmospheric environment that Qastalani brings to life. There’s definitely a sense of being self aware in this record, with Qastalani declaring his own worthiness and need to the girl he’s cheating on his girlfriend with while also being unfaithful to his actual girlfriend.
A vibey atmospheric escape that’s perfect for that late night introspection. A highlight record, undoubtedly.
