Richard Yot, a multi-dimensional and experimental song writer and musician based on the south coast of England has a certain flair with which he carries each and every one of his pieces. Fully independent Richard has released four self-produced albums on his label Resonate, with a fifth currently in production. On ‘Mirrors’, you’re able to completely capture the essence of Yot’s vision, a rather grandiose and heart-warming energy pervading across the lengthy indie rock anthem. It feels like a song for the summer, but from another time and place. There’s a rawness to the recording, an almost demo track feeling that continues to exist through its runtime.
But you’re taken away by its scope, enamoured by its scale, and enraptured by its emotion. A rock song that’s meant for a stadium, meant for an entire audience to sit and enjoy each ounce of it, meant for an arena to reel it all in. ‘Mirrors’ is magical, and Yot’s style is infectious.
