‘Even in a bar’ is my kind of Sunday afternoon music. The happy go lucky, pitch perfect country song from Steven Pointemeier is just delightful to listen to. It’s so effortlessly catchy, addictive melodies and a chorus you find yourself singing along again and again in your head to the tune. Relaying a story of a women who’s been cheated on, Pointemeier’s story sees the woman find her revenge, getting even, at a local bar. It’s quite tongue in cheek and quirky, simplistic in both melody and theme, but powerfully universal in emotion and sentiment.
It’s the kind of song you want to raise your glass up to and sing along from back to front. Country music done right with all the bells and whistles in the right place.
