Gripping and pulsating, Dublin based outfit The Dying Seconds bring together such an entrancingly hypnotic piece of synth driven rock on “Unfollow” that has you swept into its magic from the opening beats alone. The song builds with such frequency and intention, catapulting you into a state of complete catharsis and elevated euphoria by the time it starts to reach closer to its zenith. There’s a sense of disillusionment, isolation, and sorrow that’s conveyed through an energy that’s distinctively uplifting in spite of it all.
There’s a grip that The Dying Seconds are able to attach onto you through their arrangements. From around the 2:40 mark, the entire tune elevates into something much grander, cinematic, and opulent in its scale and structure. From there, you’re taken to new heights with such vigorous purpose and elevated emotions.
