After the highly acclaimed second album “Cozy Resistance” released in 2023, THE HYBRIS is back with their brand-new track “On The Day We Met The King.” True to their form, the sound is grandiose, larger than life, and to the point, seamlessly blending 80s style with punk elements and poppy anthems with pure power. The unifying element remains their politically motivated, socio-critical lyrics, reflecting their mission to save the world—no small feat, even for three highly motivated superheroes.
Known by their alter egos Ringo Rabbit, Beanie Bison, and Malcolm Mandrill, these self-styled comic book superheroes have captured attention with their previous releases. Now, they are set to present the first single from their upcoming third album. The international Alternative Rock project, formed between three friends previously living in Germany and now residing in Nice, L.A., and Cologne, continues to deliver impactful music with a mission.
There’s an inherent bravado and boisterousness that’s evoked with such pomp and splendour on “On The Day We Met The King”, much in line with the regal nature of the songs own themes. It exudes a sense of self-confidence and substance that’s delightfully fun to sing along to.
Drawing inspiration from Greek tragedy, their name—THE HYBRIS—reflects themes of exaggerated self-pride, arrogance, and the excess of ambition that often leads to ruin, making it a fitting moniker for these times. “
