Gritty, raw, and unflinchingly themselves, The Margaret Hooligans are a rock group that sound like they’re out of a time capsule. Bringing to life the sound of 90s grunge music through a reinterpretation of classical folkore, RED RIDER has the group create an excitingly and grungy spin. The lyrics outwardly reveal a reinterpretation of the Red Riding Hood fairytale, but within the meaning lies an allegory for the past few years we’ve all collectively gone through with the pandemic and its effects.
The third single to be put out from the group’s upcoming sophomore record Turntable Tribulations, RED RIDER is a freeing track. It has you feeling liberated, unravelling all the things covered underneath, and thoroughly enjoying the moment you find yourselves in. Uplifting grunge, in a strange yet poignant way.
