Sounding straight out of the psychedelic counter culture movement, with a flowery drape of positivity, Timothy Eerie’s latest track ‘We’re Going to Make it’ is an ode to one of the most influential and prolific eras in rock history. It’s defiantly hopeful, with a chorus that’s sung like a drugged out anthem. The self described aural equivalent of two tabs and a trip down the rabbit hole is every bit as magical and transportive as that would imply. It’s a fascinatingly imaginative piece of psychedelic rock music that drowns itself in production. Even Eerie’s vocals add to the blurry and spaced out feel of the record.
Although it’s slightly dystopic, it has an underlying theme of optimism and a better tomorrow to make for an anthem to something. If you grew up on the sounds of the 60s, the experimental Beatles records, the enigma of Jim Morrison, the twang of Jim Morrison, then Timothy Eerie’s latest is bound to revive some great memories while having you think of a great tomorrow.
